On 21st September 2016, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, received at the Patriarchal See the visit of Hs Excellency the Ambassador of Israel to Egypt Mr. David Govrin with his staff, as part of his visit to the city of Alexandria.
Having presented Mr. David Govrin the missionary efforts of the Patriarchate on the African Continent, and having stressed the protection of the hospitable country of Egypt of the Ancient Patriarchate, the Patriarch discussed with him the close relations between the two brother ancient Churches of Alexandria and Jerusalem, as well as other issues of historical interest.
His Excellency the Ambassador was then taken on a conducted tour of the Patriarchal Museums and received commemorative gifts from His Beatitude.
On the same day, His Beatitude received the Honourable Consul General of the U.S.A. to Alexandria, Mr. Stephen Fakan and collaborated with him on the promotion and development of the cultural treasures of the Patriarchate, as well as on the preservation of the unique manuscripts in the Patriarchal Library.
