On the afternoon of August 15, 2022, His Holiness Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa, received at the Patriarchal Palace of Alexandria the visit of a group of Egyptian Muslim religious ministers and distinguished Christian citizens, who came to His Beatitude to offer festive wishes on the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos.
The above distinguished guests, members of the "Movement for the harmonious coexistence of the Egyptian Society", expressed their respect for the centuries-old institution of the Patriarchate, expressed also their peaceful feelings towards the wider Christian family of the Land of the Nile, as well as their strong interest in the development of joint activities that constructively promote coexistence and solidarity between citizens without discrimination.
His Beatitude sincerely thanked the "elite group of pioneers of the unbreakable love of Almighty God for every living image of Him, that is, for every fellow human being of good will" as he characteristically mentioned, briefly presented the varied historical journey of the Patriarchal Throne and its contemporary splendid productive presence on the African continent, expressed the deepest gratitude of the Ancient Church of Alexandria to the Republic of Egypt for the unwavering interest and continuous support, while praising this Movement that contributes to the strengthening of the unity, solidarity and progress of the modern Egyptian multicultural society.
This was followed by an exchange of commemorative gifts and a tour of the premises of the Patriarchal Mansion.
