On the 30th of January 2020, in the presence of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, pupils and teachers of the Hellenic Schools of Cairo, honoured the Feast of the Three Hierarchs.
The Primate of the Second-throne Patriarchate, together with His Eminence Metropolitan Nicodemus of Memphis, officiated at the Divine Liturgy, which was celebrated at the Church of the Theotokos Heliopolis, for the pupils of the Achiloupoleos and Ambetios Schools.
Patriarch Theodoros thanked the pupils who spoke of the work of the Three Hierarchs. The Patriarch himself spoke of his school years and hos he experienced the church service on the day of the Three Hierarchs. He also spoke about the pupils who in every corner of Africa, despite adverse conditions go to school and to Church. He also mentioned the great benefactors who established the Greek Schools of Cairo, the Achiloupoleos and the Ambetios.
Present at the Divine Liturgy were the Consul General of Greece to Cairo Mr. G Daskalopoulos, the Deputy Educational Attaché, Mr D Giannikopoulos, the Headmaster of Achiloupoleos Mr. G Psanis and all the Staff, the Executive Director of Ambetios Mr. N Badis,the Deputy Head Mrs. S Beta. Immediately afterwards a memorial was sung for the Ambet Brothers and the pupils and staff were then offered refreshments in the Church yard.
