On Monday 19th January 2015, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa visited the offices of the Holy Metropolis of Johannesburg and Pretoria, where he was welcomed by His Eminence Metropolitan Damaskinos and all the clergy.
Blessing each one of the separately, he went to the Chapel of the Holy Trinity in the grounds of the Metropolis, where prayers were said.
The local Metropolitan then welcomed His Beatitude on behalf of all the clergy and, praising God for the completion of a decade of his Patriarchal Ministry, expressed prayers for a second decade of productive patriarchal tenure on the Throne of the Evangelist Mark.
Having thanked everyone for the wishes, His Beatitude then briefed them on the progress of our Patriarchate throughout the African continent and on his plans for the future, with God’s help.
He passed on paternal loving advice in the performing of their priestly duties and expressed Patriarchal pleasure on their presence to date in their Parishes.
He thanked them all for their ministry here, in this far-off African country and wished them a good, blessed, peaceful and productive year.
