On 15th April 2009, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa received at the Patriarchal See the outgoing Ambassador of Georgia to Egypt His Excellency Mr Giorgi Janjgava.
During this meeting His Beatitude mentioned the fraternal ties that bind the ancient Patirarchate with the Church of Georgia and its venerable Primate His Beatitude Ilia. He also praised the successful Ambassadorial tenure of His Excellency Mr Janjgava in the Land of the Nile and awarded him the Cross of the Apostle and Evangelist Mark. The Ambassador thanked His Beatitude for the honour and also praised his work and his person.
The Georgian diplomat was taken on a conducted tour of the Patriarchal Mansion and a lunch was then hosted in the Patriarchal Refectory.
