On 22nd October 2010, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa received representatives of the Hellenic Scouting Association of Egypt, under the leadership of the District Scout Leader of Egypt, Mr Nicholas Atzemis, all of whom received the Patriarchal blessing for the beginning of the anniversary functions for the 100th anniversary from the establishment of the Hellenic Scouting Movement.
“You are the future and the hope of our community”, said His Beatitude, addressing them. Commemorative gifts were then exchanged, during which the scouts respectfully gave His Beatitude an anniversary gold plaque of the 100 years of the Hellenic Scouts so that it could be kept at the sacristy of the ancient Patriarchate.
