On August 15, 2022, the celebration of the Dormition of the Theotokos took place with devotion in the Holy Parish Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos of the Arab Orthodox Community of Alexandria.
His Beatitude the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria presided over the Divine Liturgy, concelebrated by His Eminence Panteleimon Metropolitan of Naucratis, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod and His Eminence Narcissus Vicar of Alexandria. Before the end of the Eucharistic Assembly, the Septus Primate of the Church of Alexandria spoke to the congregation, referring to the person of Theotokos and her uniqueness according to the plan of Divine Providence. He also expressed the rightful praise of the Church for the Arab Orthodox flock of the Ancient Patriarchate for its devotion to It, as well as for the unity, spiritual harmony and creative compassion demonstrated among its members.
It is also noted that on the 14th of August, Great Vespers was sung together with the lamentations of the Dormition of the Theotokos in the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of Saint Savvas the Sanctified of Alexandria, officiated by His Beatitude and concelebrated by His Eminence Panteleimon Metropolitan of Naucratis and His Grace Germanos Bishop of Tamiathus, Head of the Holy Monastery.
