THE CREW OF THE A/C “RODOS” VISITS HIS BEATITUDE
On 20th August 2010, His Beatitude received at the Patriarchal Mansion the Commander, Officers and crew of the Tank Landing Ship A/C “Rodos”, which sailed into the harbour in Alexandria in the framework of a training trip, accompanied by the Defence Attaché of the Greek Embassy in Egypt.
Addressing His Beatitude the Commander emphasized the significance of the mission of the ancient Patriarchate on the African continent and gave him symbolically the Greek flag as well as a commemorative plaque.
His Beatitude spoke of the valuable services of the navy to the nation and once again expressed the grateful thanks of the Alexandrian Church for its assistance to the Missionary service in Africa.
The visitors were then guided around the Patriarchal See and the adjacent Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Theotokos.
