On the 3rd of October 2018, His Beatitude Theodoros the 2nd Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa welcomed to the Patriarchate, His Excellency, the new Consul General of Greece in Alexandria, Mr. Athanasios Kotsionis as he undertakes his new duties.
His Beatitude the Patriarch greeted the new Consul General wholeheartedly, congratulated him on his appointment and wished him strength for the new work he is undertaking.
On his behalf, the Consul General thanked the Patriarch for the warm welcome, expressed his deep appreciation and the love he has for the ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa, as an ark of the values and ideals of Hellenism and Orthodoxy, as well as to the person of the Alexandrian Primate for the important missionary work he does throughout Africa.
His Beatitude the Patriarch then received at a meeting and welcomed two new clergy who will serve the Patriarchate of Alexandria by secondment.
They are the Very Reverend Archimandrite Germanos Galanis, a tested member of the Clergy to the ministry of the Church, who served for many years as Chancellor next to the late Metropolitan Spyridon of Langada and also served as Abbot of the Holy Monastery of The Holy Trinity, Langada. He is a brother of the Holy Monastery of Saint Anastasia the Farmakolitria in Halkidiki and a preacher of the Holy Word. He was kindly seconded by His Eminence Theoklitos Metropolitan of Ierissos, Agion Oros and Ardameriou, to whom His Beatitude expressed grateful thanks.
He also welcomed the Very Reverend Archimandrite Isaac Tsapoglou, who for many years was the preacher at the Brotherhood of “Lydia of Phillipi” and the Holy Metropolis of Elassona, served as Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saint Demetrios “Valetsiko” Tsaritsanis, who was kindly seconded by His Eminence Hariton, Metropolitan of Elassona, to whom the Patriarch expressed his gratitude.
