On 4th May 2018, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa welcomed to the Patriarchate a group of Governors and Senior Officers of the Greek and Cypriot Navy, as part of the “NOSTOS, THE RETURN” programme, which is taking place at present in Egypt. The Senior Staff were accompanied by the Military Attaché of Greece in Cairo, Captain Vasileios Tsoukas. In the Patriarchal Throne Room, the Alexandrian Primate spoke to them about the two-thousand year presence of Christianity in Egypt, and also mentioned the multifaceted religious and humanistic work done by the ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa, throughout the African Continent. His Beatitude thanked those present for their presence in Alexandria and for their contribution to the Homeland, and prayed that they will always have peace and strength in the performance of their noble duties. The visitors then had the opportunity of been shown the Archaeological Museum, the Patriarchal Library and the Patriarchal Sacristy.
