On 22nd November 2012, the deliberations of the Holy Synod continued, chaired by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, with the reading of the recommendations of the Hierarchs of the Alexandrian Throne.
His Eminence Jonah of Kampala presented the topic: “Working together to tackle conditions in Africa by local Churches-findings-comments-suggestions”
His Eminence Seraphim Metropolitan of Zimbabwe and Angola spoke on the topic: “On the utilization of European programmes in Africa”.
His Eminence Gregory of Cameroon spoke on the topic: “’On the formulation of the financial statements of Holy Metropolises and Dioceses-findings-comments-suggestions.’
His Eminence Nicholas of Ermopolis spoke on the topic: “The phenomenon of religious violence in the Middle East and in Africa”
The recommendations and thematic talks were followed by a productive exchange of concerns and views about the boiling issues. Prior to the end of the meeting His Beatitude gave an icon to His Eminence Emmanuel of Khartoum as a token of love and brotherhood on his completion of forty years as a fellow companion begun from his student years at the Rizarios Ecclesiastical Academy of Athens.
The deliberations of the Holy Synod continued in the afternoon with the presentation of the reports of the Hierarchs of the Throne.
