SACRED MEMORIAL SERVICE BY THE PATRIARCH OF ALEXANDRIA FOR HIS PREDECESSOR THE LATE PARTHENIOS III
On 23rd July 2024, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa prayerfully attended during the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria, following which a sacred memorial service was sung for the repose of the sole of his late blessed Predecessor and mentor, Patriarch Parthenios III of Alexandria (1986-1997).
The Primate of the Second Throne Patriarchate, particularly moved, presented experiences and personal moments from the Patriarchal tenure of the venerable Primate, whom he served reverently throughout its duration, as during it he received the rank of hierarch, as Assistant to the ever-remembered Patriarch, Bishop, with the title of the once glorious Diocese of Cyrene.
It is noted that His Beatitude, being in Cairo during these days, performed a memorial service on Saturday, July 20th, at the tombs of his blessed Predecessors of Nicholas VI and Parthenius III.
