PATRIARCHATE OF ALEXANDRIA – PRESS RELEASE
His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, while on a lengthy Missionary journey, was informed sadly of the tragic consequences of the recent devastating floods in his birthplace, Megalonisos, Crete and immediately prayed for the repose of the souls of those who had lost their lives, suddenly and tragically.
The Primate of the Ancient Alexandrian Throne expresses his deepest sympathy to the families of the victims and prays for their repose in the bosom of God.
His Beatitude the Alexandrian Primate also expresses his support for the Church of Crete and especially the two badly hit Metropolises of Cydonia and Apokoronou, as well as Kisamou and Selinou and wishes the Local Authorities and the relative agencies strength in order to deal with the destruction and healing of injuries, from these extreme weather phenomena.
May the Triune God protect His entire creation and strengthen each one in his dailoy struggle of life, with peace, prosperity and spiritual joy.
