During the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy His Beatitude ordained to the Diaconate the Catechist and Hieropsltis of the Church Antonios Ssempijja, to whom he addressed paternal advice and counsel. The procession of the holy icons then took place, according to the typikon of the Alexandrian Church. Present at the service were His Excellency the Ambassador of Egypt Mr Sabry Magdy Sabry, state officials and many faithful.
A parish celebratory function followed with a lunch in honour of His Beatitude, who announced the undertaking of the costs of the building of a technical-vocational School in the area.
It is to be noted that in the Parish of St Antony in Monte, educational institutes are in operation (Primary, High and Lyceum) as well as hostels for the students. There is also a large hospital belonging to the Holy Metropolis.
