On Sunday 28th February 2010, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, conducted the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Cathedral Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Khartoum, together with His Eminence Emmanuel Metropolitan of Khartoum and His Grace Bishop Niphon.
Before the end of the Liturgy Prayers His Eminence Emmanuel, Metropolitan of Khartoum warmly addressed His Beatitude mentioning the historic journey of the Holy Metropolis of Khartoum and the historic significance of the joyful presence of the Venerable Primate of the ancient Patriarchate for the local Church
The Patriarch then preached the homilyand donated Chalice for the rite of the Bloodless Sacrifice i the Holy Church, at the entrance of which he unveiled the commemorative plaque.
Present at the Divine Liturgy were His Excellency the Ambassador of Greece in Sudan Mr. Christos Karapanos, His Excellency the Ambassador of Egypt in Sudan Mr. Abdel-Wahab, the Chairman of the Hellenic Community Mr. Xenophon Karapanayiotis, representatives of Hellenic organizations, schools, etc.
