On August 6, 2022, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, presided over the Divine Liturgy at the beautiful Cathedral of the Holy Transfiguration of the Saviour at the Holy Metropolis of Pelusium in the city of Port Said, Egypt, concelebrating with His Eminence Narcissus Metropolitan of Pelusium, Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria and His Grace Prodromos Bishop of Toliara and South Madagascar and His Grace Germanos Bishop of Tamiathus, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria.
Preaching the homily, His Beatitude interpreted the theological content of the Feast of Christ the Master, while he spoke in praise of the fervent zeal that characterizes the Orthodox flock of the historical ecclesiastical Province of Pelusium. In closing, he congratulated His Eminence Metropolitan Narcissus for the planned start of the renovation works of the Cathedral within this year.
Before the end of the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude consecrated as Archimandrite hieromonk Parthenios from Uganda, a student of the "St Athanasios" Patriarchal Academy in Alexandria.
This was followed by a festive reception in the adjacent premises of the Church,, as well as a lunch which was offered in honour of His Beatitude the Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II, which was attended by the concelebrating Hierarchs, the clergy and students of the Patriarchal Academy of Alexandria. Before his return to the Great City the Alexandrian Primate paternally visited workplaces of the faithful on the beach of Port Said, the city that forms the entrance to the Suez Canal from the Mediterranean
