PATRIARCHAL DIVINE LITURGY AT THE HOLY CHURCH OF THE DORMITION OF THE THEOTOKOS OF THE ARABIC ORTHODOX COMMUNITY OF ALEXANDRIA

     On Sunday 22nd April 2012, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the homily at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos of the Arabic Orthodox Community of Alexndria, together with His Eminence Nicholas Metropolitan of Ermopolis and His Grace Gabriel Bishop of Mareotis, Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria.

     A festive reception followed during which His Beatitude praised the tireless efforts of the Arabic Speaking Community in renewing the above named church and donated the silver Patriarchal Emblem to it.

     In conclusion the Deputy Chairman gave His Beatitude on behalf of the Community council an old pectoral cross which belonged to the late Metropolitan of Beirut,  Elia Karam.
