Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria visited Archbishop Ieronymos in Athens
On December 14, 2021, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa paid a visit to Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens, in order, among other things, to thank him for the help and support offered by the Church of Greece to the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
"With great gratitude we thank Greece, the Apostolic Church of Greece and above all our humble and strong supporter, His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens", stressed the Alexandrian Primate.
In addition, he referred to his recent mission to Uganda, Tanzania and South Africa and spoke about the Greek element that exists there. He also spoke about the situation of the deadly pandemic and the many losses in these countries, while noting that he was there to emphasize that he is with them.
For his part, Archbishop Ieronymos expressed his joy in meeting with Patriarch Theodoros and pointed out that "there are many things that connect us, but mainly the mission, the effort to meet the great needs of the Patriarchate of Alexandria."
