On 10th November 2012 His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa announced the appointment of the Very Reverend Archim. Theodoros Dridakis as the new Head of the Holy Cathedral of St Nicholas in Cairo.
Fr Theodoros was born in Rethymnon in 1966. A graduate of the Higher Ecclesiastical Academy of Crete and the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens, he was ordained Deacon in 1998 and Priest in 2000 by His Eminence Evgenios, Metropolitan of Ierapytni and Siteia, who also consecrated him as Archimandrite in 2002.
He served the Holy Metropolises of Ierapytni and Siteis, Good Hope and France. He is a spiritual son of His Beatitude, bears the name of the spiritual father of the Patriarch, the late Metropolitan Theodoros (Tzedakis) of Rethymnon and Avlopotamos from Lambi and Sfakia, as well as that of His Eminence Theodoros Metropolitan of Iliopolis (patriarchate of Alexandria) and of the Third Deacon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Theodoros Meimaris.
