On 7th June 2013 His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, following the visit of solidarity and support to the suffering Church of Antioch, received the following letter of gratitude from Ioannis I, Patriarch of Antioch:
Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East
No: 182/2013
Balamand, 7th June 2013
To
His Beatitude THEODOROS II,
Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa
Your Beatitude and Holy Brother,
You came and brought us strength and joy. Strength because we felt that we are not alone, but that the Church united empathizes each member with the other. And the joy was the joy that fill the heart, when brothers meet.
Your support was perceptible from our continuous telephonic communication, but peaked with your presence among us, for which we were all glad, here on the blessed mount of Balamand. Therefore I regard it as my duty to thank you for your visit, which gave us the certainty that you are always willing to assist your Orthodox brothers.
I repeat my gratitude, praying that the Most Merciful God will grant you strength for the work which you undertake.
With much love in Christ
+ IOANNIS I of Antioch
