LETTER OF CONGRATULATIONS TO HIS BEATITUDE FROM THE

   Mrs Rodi Kratsa, Deputy President of the european Parliament, sent a letter of congratulations to His beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa on the imminent inauguration of the first Greek Orthodox School in Zambia, which will open  its doors on the 9th May 2009.

    In her letter Mrs Kratsa emphasized to the Venerable Primate of the Throne of St Mark that “I communicate with you in feelings of deep respect to express my fervent congratulations on the establishment and mminent operation of the first Greek Orthodox School in Lusaka, Zambia, a project which is part of the millenium aims of the United Nations Organization. It is true that education is a fundamental prerequisite for development, learning and peace wich are urgently needed by Africa and
its people.

    The Honourable Deputy President of the European Parliament ended, saying: “Greek Orthodoxy worldwide is secured throug this significant project and Hellenism is promoted”.
