On 2nd April 2010, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, together with His Eminence Metropolitan Seraphim of Johannesburg and Pretoria and Archimandrite Panteleimon Arathymos, visited the “Street Children’s Centre” of the Holy Metropolis of Johannesburg.
This charitable institution plays host to thousands of suffering children in South Africa in an environment of family concern and love by the local Church with the help of Greeks living here.
During his visit His Beatitude spoke with the little children and gave them beautiful food packs, sweets and toys, donated by Mr Baladakis and family, chairman of the Office Bearers of the Throne in South Africa and expressed the gratitude of the Church to His Eminence Seraphim and his group of volunteers, who in a spirit of true love and philanthropy serve the little children which in the first steps of their lives are struggling and have been abandoned in the streets of South Africa.
The Venerable Primate also gave financial assistance to the Centre to support their valuable work.
