On the afternoon of Sunday 14th October 2012 His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by the local Bishop of Katanga, His Grace Meletios, went to the hospital of the local Church, “Ss Kosmas and Damian”, where he blessed and spoke with the patients and the staff, and visited the new wing of the hospital which is under construction, donating new medical equipment.
He then went to visit the newly-constructed Holy Monastery of St Nektarios, where, after the Doxology prayers, the address and the offering of a pastoral staff of African design from the Venerable Abbess, Sister Thekla, His Beatitude gave paternal advice and counsel to the holy sisterhood.
