His Beatitude Theodoros II Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa paid a visit today, 12th April 2022 to the Greek Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Mansion.
At the meeting all issues related to the Ancient Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria were reviewed, the challenges it is called to manage in its area of spiritual and ecclesiastical jurisdiction were discussed, particularly with the invasion of the Moscow Patriarchate in Africa, and the need to for the benefit of Hellenism and Orthodoxy and the demanding role it is called to play in Africa for the benefit of Hellenism and Orthodoxy was emphasized.
The Prime Minister reiterated to His Beatitude the full support of the Greek Government in all matters concerning the Church of Alexandria and the Greek Orthodox flock in Africa.
It was confirmed during the discussion that, in the current situation, maintaining the unity of the Orthodox Churches remains a high priority.
