HIS BEATITUDE’S PASTORAL VISIT TO THE HOLY METROPOLIS OF MADAGASCAR HAS BEEN COMPLETED
On 6th June 2015, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, continuing his missionary journey to the Toliara district of Madagascar, inaugurated the medical clinic of the Parish of the Annunciation of the Theotokos which will treat the children of the district free of charge.
Present at the inauguration were representatives of the State, the doctors of the clinic and the teaching staff of the adjacent Parish School with whom His Beatitude then had a meeting and discussions with them for a length of time.
On the afternoon of the same day His Beatitude conducted the Inauguration of the Holy Church of St Irene, thanking Hegumen Timotheos of the Holy Monastery of the Paraclete in Oropos, Attica, for the costs of building the Church.
In conclusion, on the next day, 7th June 2015, the Primate of the Alexandrian Church conducted the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy at the Basketball Stadium in Toliara, granting the opportunity to thousands of faithful to attend the holy Sacrament from the broader region and to partake of the Holy Sacrament.
Prior to the dismissal His Beatitude awarded the medal of the Commander of St Savvas the Sanctified, to Mr. Evangelos Parianos and other benefactors and volunteers for their contribution to the Missionary effort.
In the evening the Patriarch departed for the capital, Antananarivo, thus completing his Missionary journey to the Holy Metropolis of Madagascar.
