His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa expresses his deepest sadness on the tragic loss in the capital of Tanzania, Dar es Salaam, of the late Petroula Hatzipantazis, a doctor, expert advisor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece, who a few days ago voluntarily travelled to the above-mentioned African country, courtesy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to assist the missionary efforts of the Holy Metropolis of Irinopolis and the general activities of the ancient Patriarchate in Africa.
Immediately on hearing of the unexpected death of the late doctor, who distinguished herself with her scientific training, her humanistic feelings and spirit of sacrifice for our suffering fellow humans, conducted on the same day a memorial service for the repose of her blessed soul in the Holy Chapel of Ss Theodori, within the Patriarchal Mansion in Alexandria. At the same time, he expresses to her family, as well as to the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and her valued colleagues, his deepest condolences.
He then called on His Eminence Dimitrios, Metropolitan of Irinopolis, to officiate at the funeral service of the deceased.
