HIS BEATITUDE RETURNS TO ALEXANDRIA FROM CRETE
On 27th August 2009, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa arrived in Alexandria, following a short stay in Crete.
During his visit there, His Beatitude met with His Eminence Archbishop Irinaios of Crete to whom he expressed his fraternal love and the support of the Patriarchal Throne of Alexandria for the Venerable Ecumenical Patriarchate, saying that the local Church of Crete was a “faithful and dedicated daughter of the Great Church of Christ”. He also met with the Honourable Mr. Seraphim Tsiokas, Secretary General of the District of Crete.
He also expressed his grateful thanks to all agents and societies who support the multifaceted missionary and humanistic work of the Ancient Patriarchate as well as those private individuals who through their own initiative maintain collection boxes in their businesses for the suffering children of the African Continent.
