HIS BEATITUDE IS WELCOMED TO THE CITY OF LIKASI
On 16th October 2012 His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa visited the parish of St John the Baptist in the city of Likasi where, at the entrance to the city, he was warmly welcomed by the faithful. A Doxology was sung at the Holy Church during which His Beatitude spoke of the pastoral and general concern of the Alexandrian Church for the Christian faithful and emotionally commemorated the past presence of the almost one thousand Greeks who lived and worked in the city.
An added surprise for His Beatitude was his meeting with acquaintances from the Cameroon where the Venerable Primate of the Throne of St Mark had served as Metropolitan.
