HIS BEATITUDE CONDUCTED THE BLESSING FOR THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR AT THE GREEK SCHOOLS OF ALEXANDRIA
On 10th September 2012, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa conducted the appointed blessing at the Greek Schools of the Great City for the beginning of lessons in the new academic year 2012-2013.
His Beatitude addressed paternal advice and prayers to the teachers and the pupils, and noted that it is a blessing that the renowned schools of Alexandria which were established by eminent benefactors of Hellenism continue operating unimpeded, to the benefit of the progress of scholars in Alexandria.
Present at the ceremony were the Honorable Consul General of Greece in Alexandria Mr Christos Kapodistrias, the Chairman of the Hellenic Community of Alexandria Mr Ioannis Siokas and representatives of Greek societies and brotherhoods.
