On 20th October 2012 His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, together with His Eminence Nikiphoros Metropolitan of Central Africa and His Eminence Ignatios of Pentapolis, conducted the memorial service at the tombs of the late pioneers of mission in Kananga, Fr Chrysostomos Papasarantopoulos, Fr Hariton Pnevmatikakis and Sister Olga Papasarantou.
He then went to the Orthodox “Light of the Nations” Schools where he attended a school festive function. During his address His Beatitude expressed his satisfaction with the excellent organization and the general orderly and effective operation of the schools, and praised the beautiful presentation of the school function. He then gave gifts to all the pupils.
A meeting between His Beatitude and the teaching staff followed, during which issues regarding the educational effort were discussed.
