On 21st May 2011, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa conducted the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Ss Constantine and Helen, Equal to the Apostles, of the Hellenic Community of Cairo, which was celebrating its Feast Day, concelebrated with the Patriarchal Vicar of Cairo, His Grace Nikodimos, Bishop of Nitria.
His Beatitude thanked the Hellenic community for the work it has done for the church especially its Parish Priest the Very Reverend Archimandrite Chrysostomos Karagounis and all who contributed to the realization of the festive functions. A procession of the Holy Icon followed around the historic Greek church.
Present at the festivities on the 21st May 2011, were His Excellency the Ambassador of Greece Mr. Christodoulos Lazaris, the Honourable Consul General of Greece in Cairo Mr Ioannis Hatzantonakis, the Honourable Consul of Cyprus Mr Stavrinou, the Deputy Chairman of the Hellenic Community of Cairo Mr Kimis Flevotomas and many Members of the Administrative Committee of the community in the Egyptian capital.
