Immediately after the completion of the proceedings of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, along with all the Hierarchs of the Throne of St. Mark, went to the Holy Chapel of Saints Theodori, where the Great Message (Oath of Office) of the elected Bishop of Tamiathus, Germanos, was given.

The elected Bishop of Tamiathus, Germanos (born, Nikolaos Galanis), was born in 1951 in Drymos, Thessalonica. He studied Theology at the following schools: The Holy Monastery of Saint Anastasia Farmakolytria, The Patmos School of Theology and the Theological School at the Aristotelian University of Thessalonica. He was tonsured a monk on 9 February 1973, in the Holy Church of Saint Mary Magdalene in Polygyros, Chalkidiki, by the elder Metropolitan Spyridon of Langadas. He was ordained Deacon by Metropolitan Pavlos of Veroia Naousa and Kampania, on 9 May 1977. On 8 April 1979 he was ordained Presbyter by Metropolitan Spyridon of Langadas and he was appointed as the Parish Priest of the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saint Paraskevi in Langadas, also taking on the responsibility of Chancellor of the Holy Metropolis. From 1986 he was the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of The Holy Trinity in Pente Vryses. In 2010 he was enrolled into the Holy Metropolis of Ierissos, Agion Oros and Ardameri by Metropolitan Nikodemos and he served as Parish Priest and Preacher at the Metropolitan Church of Saint Stefanos in Arnaia., residing at the Holy Monastery of Saint Anastasia Farmakolytria as a brother and a member of the Abbot’s counsel thereof. In October of the year 2018 he was called to the Ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa by His Beatitude, Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II and he served as Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saint Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria and as codicographer of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate. By proposal of His Beatitude and by the votes of the Holy Synod he was elected Auxiliary Bishop of Tamiathus on 9 October 2019.

His Eminence the elected Metropolitan of Accra, Petros (Born, Panagiotis Parginos) was born in Johannesburg in South Africa. He is a graduate of Saheti School. He studied English and Greek Literature at the Universities of the Witwatersrand and Johannesburg. He taught Greek Language and Civilization at Saheti and was promoted to the Director of the Greek Department in the High School. In February 1998 he was ordained Deacon by the then Metropolitan of Cameroon and the current Patriarch of Alexandria, Theodoros II, and in December, he was ordained Presbyter by the late Metropolitan of Johannesburg and Pretoria, Ioannis. He studied Theology through the American English medium Faculty of BALAMAND, where he also completed a Masters Degree in the Faculty of Ecclesiology. His second Masters Degree was on Orthodox Niptic Tradition, which he completed at the Catholic College of Saint Augustine in Johannesburg. He also followed classes on Christian Ethics, Education, Inter-Christian and Inter-Religious Dialogue, Pastoral Care and Psychology. He is a holder of a Degree – Licentiate in Logotherapy. In 2019, at the University of the North West, he completed a PhD on the subject of Dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church. He served as a Priest of the Holy Metropolis of Johannesburg and Pretoria, first at the Holy Church of St. Nektarios and then as the Parish Priest of the Holy Church of the Presentation of the Lord at SAHETI School where he also taught Religious Instruction in the High School. At the same time, he oversaw the curriculum for the Sunday Schools of the Metropolis and had close contact with the youth and students, who often invited him to speak to them on various topics related to their spiritual life. He also worked as a lecturer at St. Augustine’s College where he taught courses in Ecclesiastical History, Religion and the Ecumenical Movement and Dialogue. In 2017, with the blessings of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa and the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate, he founded, organized and directed the Academy of Saint Mark, which offers distance Theological Studies using an electronic means of communication. With the Proposal of His Beatitude and the votes of the Holy Synod, he was elected Metropolitan of Accra on 09/10/2019.
Curriculum vitae of the elected Bishop of Kisumu, Markos
Archimandrite Fr. Markos Theodosis was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, to Greek Cypriot parents. He finished High School in an English School and he also finished Greek at Benoni Greek School where he grew up and later became Parish Priest at St. Athanasius Church of the Benoni Greek Community. At the proposal of the late Metropolitan of Johannesburg and Pretoria, Ioannis, he studied Theology at the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki with a scholarship from the Ministry of Macedonia, graduating in 2002. He was ordained Deacon by the late Patriarch of Alexandria, His Beatitude Petros VII on 1 January 2001 and Presbyter in August of the same year by the former Metropolitan of Johannesburg and Pretoria and current Metropolitan of Zimbabwe and Angola, His Eminence Seraphim. He was appointed as Private Secretary of the Patriarchal Office by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa in 2005. Since 2007 he has been appointed to the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos of the Holy Metropolis of Johannesburg and in 2008 to the Church of St. Athanasius where he assisted, with the blessings of His Eminence Damaskinos, Metropolitan of Johannesburg and Pretoria, with youth group, catechism classes and Bible study group.
