On 11th November 2015, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, prior to the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy for the commemoration of St Minas of Egypt, in the Holy Chapel of St Nektarios of the Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria, consecrated to the rank of Archimandrite, Fr Panaretos Kimani Gacheru from Kenya, of the Kikuyu tribe, who is studying Psychology at the University of Nicosia and is preparing his Master’s in Theology.
In his speech His Beatitude expressed his gratitude to and praise for the new Archimandrite, as well as the great hopes which he has for him in the Ministry of the People of Good in Kenya, and gave him the paternal advice of patience in the difficulties of the Missions and the obedience to the Patriarchal Throne and its Primate.
Also in his address His Beatitude spoke of His Eminence the Metropolitan Nicephoros of Kykkos and Tylliria, for his enormous contribution to the Missionary effort and his providence to the new Archimandrite, Fr. Panaretos, whom he hosts during his studies in Cyprus.
Festal treats were then given in the Guest Hall of the Holy Monastery
