APPOINTMENT OF NEW PATRIARCHAL VICAR OF ALEXANDRIA AT THE SECOND-THRONE PATRIARCHATE
On Wednesday 14th September 2016. His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, officiated during Orthros and conducted the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy, as well as the ceremony of the Elevation of the Precious and Life creating Cross, in the Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria.
Prior to the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, he appointed as new Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria, His Eminence Narcissos Metropolitan of Accra, speaking of him with words of praise regarding his hard work, his obedience, honesty and conscientiousness, asking him to support, as another Cyrenean, from his most responsible position as Patriarchal Vicar and Director of Finances of the Patriarchate, for the better organization of the Administrative Services and the efforts of the ancient Throne.
The new Vicar, His Eminence the Metropolitan of Accra, in his turn gratefully thanked His Beatitude for this appointment, promising that he will make every effort to carry out his new duties, as he did during his years of hierarchal service in the Holy Metropolises of Nubia and Accra and exchanged commemorative gifts with His Beatitude the Patriarch.
The the Hegumen of the Holy Monastery of St Savvas, His Grace Meletios of Naucratis, hosted a reception in the Guest hall of the Monastery in honour of the new Patriarchal Vicar, assuring him on behalf the Patriarchal Court that all the Clergy of the Holy Archdiocese of Alexandria will cooperate with concord to the recommendations of His Eminence the Patriarchal Vicar and gave him in honour a Hierarchal pectoral cross.
