On Palm Sunday, 20th April 2008, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, together with His Grace Gabriel of Mareotis, His Grace Spyridon of Kanopos and His Grace Gennadios, conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the homily at the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria .
Following the Liturgy, His Beatitude conducted the inauguration of the renovated Sacristy of the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas the Sanctified, in which are kept holy appurtenances, church valuables and holy icons venerated by the late Patriarchs, hierarchs and Greek citizens of the Great City of Alexandria; he also inaugurated the re-established Library of the centuries old monastic residence.
On the evening of the same day His Beatitude officiated during the Bridegroom service at the above-named church, where, on Monday 21st April 2008, he conducted the Pre-Sanctified Divine Liturgy.
