On the afternoon of 16th June 2008, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa met with Mr Harry Gouvelis, Deputy President of SAE and Co-ordinator for Asia-Africa with whom he discussed issues regarding the Conference which is to take place in Alexandria from 10-14 October 2008.
His Beatitude thanked SAE, of which he is a permanent member since 1995, for their support and good co-operation shown to the missionary and humanistic effort of the Patriarchal Throne.
On 17th June 2008, His Beatitude conducted the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria on the occasion of the anniversary of his consecration as Bishop (17.6.1990), making special mention of and remembering his predecessor Patriarch Parthenios III, who was his spiritual father and benefactor by whom he was ordained as Bishop.
Following the Divine Liturgy which was attended by the clergy of the Patriarchate and many faithful, an reception was held.
