On 15th January 2011 His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa officiated at the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Chapel of the Saint and Apostle Mark and St Nektarios within the Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria, on the occasion of the completion of 13 years from the Canonical restitution of St Nektarios of Pentapolis as Hierarch of the Alexandrian Throne and the translation of a part of his relics to Alexandria, as well as on the remembrance of St Gerasimos Palladas, Patriarch of Alexandria.
It is to be noted that for the first time a chanted Service was served for the Saint and Patriarch Gerasimos, and it was composed by the hymnographer His Eminence Kyrillos of Rhodes.
On the same day His Beatitude received a visit of His Grace Theodoritos of Arianzos, accompanied by 45 members of a group of Greek pilgrims from the Holy Mertropolis of Germany, as well as a visit from His Grace Gennadios Bishop of Botswana, with whom he held a lengthy meeting on issues regarding the newly-established Diocese of Botswana.
He also went to the Greek Chamber of Commerce in Alexandria where he blessed the Vasilopita and wished the members for the new year.
On Sunday 16th January 2011, His Beatitude conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the homily at the Holy Church of St Antony of the Arabic-speaking community of Alexandria, concelebrated by His Eminence Nicholas of Ermopolis.
