His Eminence Narcissos, Metropolitan of Pelusium (born Samer Gammoh), was born in 1968 in Amman, Jordan, where he completed his schooling at the National Orthodox School. He is a graduate of the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens (1988-1992) where he read for post graduate studies in the History of Dogma (1992-1994). He was tonsured a Monk on 14/2/1994 by the late Metropolitan Iakovos Ginis of Nicaea. He was ordained by the same Metropolitan as Deacon on 15/2/1994 and Presbyter by Metropolitan Bartholomaios of Megara, together with his consecration as Archimandrite on 11/6/1994 at the Holy Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Megara where he served for 16 consecutive years as Parish Priest and Preacher.
He was seconded to the Ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria on 16/2/2009, and since then has served at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas the Sanctified, where he lived as Dean of the Patriarchal Academy of Alexandria, “Agios Athanasios”, as Secretary for Arabic in the Chief Secretariat of the Patriarchate, and as Preacher and in charge of catechism and youth work for the Arabic speaking parishes of Alexandria. On 23rd November 2013, by proposal of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria, he was elected by the Holy Synod as Metropolitan of Nubia, Most Honoured and Exarch of All Sudan. He was ordained on 1st December 2013 at the Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria by His Beatitude. On 24th November 2015, by proposal of His Beatitude, he was elected by the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria as Metropolitan of Accra. On 14th September 2016, he was appointed by His Beatitude as Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria. On 9th November 2019, by proposal of His Beatitude, he was elected by the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria as Metropolitan of Naykratidos.
On the 12th of January 2022, by proposal of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch he was elected Metropolitan of Pelusium by the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
