The clergy and the Greeks of the Cameroon gave His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa a warm welcome on his arrival at the “Nsimalen” International Airport in Yaoundé late on the night of 10th February 2009.
The Alexandrian Primate was welcomed by the local Metropolitan, His Eminence Gregory, His Excellency the Greek Ambassador Mr. Dionysios Sourvanos, the Honourable Cypriot Consul Mr. Konstantinos Antoniades, the Chargé d’ Affaires of the Egyptian Embassy in Cameroon, Mr. Serif Raafat, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Cameroon, the Chairman of the Hellenic Community of Yaoundé Mr. Lefteris Pappas and other dignitaries.
His Beatitude will attend the functions for the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Holy Metropolis of Kenya in the next few days.
