In the early hours of the morning of !9th June 2009, His Beatitude Ieronymos Archbishop of Athens and All Greece arrived in Alexandria on an official visit to the Ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa.
His Beatitude and his entourage were welcomed at the airport in Alexandria by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa who expressed the joy of the entire Church of Alexandria at the presence of the Venerable Primate of the Church of Greece .
His beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos was welcomed also by His Grace Gabriel Bishop of Mareotis and Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria, His Grace Gennadios Bishop of Nilopolis and Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod, and the Honourable Consul general of Greece in Alexandria Mr. George Diakofotakis.
His Beatitude the Archbishop is accompanied by His Eminence Nikodimos of Ierissos, His Eminence Ignatios of Arta, Archimandrite Klimis Koutsomytis, Deacon Epiphanios Arvanitis and Mr. Stamatios Raptis a member of the Staff of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens.
The Archbishop was accompanied from Athens also by His Eminence the Elder Metropolitan Petros of Aksum Representative of his Beatitude in Athens and the Megas Archon Logothetis of the Patriarchate Mr. Spyridon Kamalakis.
