On Sunday 2oth September 2009, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the homily at the Holy Chapel of St Nektarios in the building of the Patriarchal Vicariate in Cairo.
Following the Eucharistic gathering, he received the representatives of the Hellenic Scouting Movement of Cairo, under the leadership of the Deputy District Commissioner of Scouts in Cairo, Mr. Alexandros Kazamias, and all received the Patriarchal blessing for the start of the 97th Scouting period.”You are the future and the hope of our community”, said His Beatitude when addressing them, and wholeheartedly praised their efforts.
He also spoke of the promising work of the rennovation of the historic Monastery of St George in Old Cairo, which was the reason why His Beatitude was visiting Cairo. Immediately thereafter, the Patriarchate returned to the Patriarchal See in Alexandria.
