On Sunday 13th July 201,, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the homily at the Holy Patriarchal Church of the Holy Unmercenaries in the suburb of Abukir in Alexandria.
Before the end of the Eucharistic gathering His Beatitude conducted the usual sanctification of the waters and awarded Mrs. Eleftheria Tsapari the Lion of St Mark who, together with her husband who was rewarded years ago, Mr. Pericles Tsaparis, takes care of the Holy Church as the last remaining Greeks in the far-flung suburb of the Great City, “Serving Orthodoxy and Hellenism”, according to the words of His Beatitude.
