On 4th December 2012 His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa officiated and preached the homily during Great Vespers at the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified, Patron Saint of Alexandria, together with His Eminence Metropolitan Savvas of Accra and His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Brazzaville and Gabon.
On the day of the Feast, 5th December 2012, His Beatitude conducted the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the same name, together with the above-mentioned Hierarchs. He then went on to bless the Christmas Market of the Lyceum of Greek Ladies of Alexandria.
Present at the spiritual and Liturgical functions were the Honourable Consul of Greece in the Great City Mr. Christos Kapodistrias, His Excellency the Ambassador of Greece Mr. Stavros Lykides who is in Alexandria at present, and is the Inspector General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of Hellenic Societies and Associations and the Hellenic Community in its entirety.
