On Great and Holy Friday, 10th April 2015, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa officiated during the Great Royal Hours and at the Vespers of the Deposition from Cross at the Holy Monastery of St George Old Cairo, together with His Grace Chrysostomos, Bishop of Berenice.
In the afternoon, His Beatitude officiated at the same Monastery during the Service of the Lamentations and the procession of the Epitaphios in the grounds of the Monastery and in the adjacent Cemetery, where he read the Trisagion service for the repose of his late predecessor Patriarchs, as well as for all Orthodox Christians fallen asleep.
Present at the above services were the Consul General of Greece in Cairo Mrs. Komini, the Chairman and Members of the Hellenic Community, the Hellenic Scouts and crowds of faithful.
His Beatitude the Pope and Patriarch also officiated during the Service of the Epitaphios and conducted the procession, at the Holy Church of the Archangels in Daher, Cairo, the Arabic-Speaking Community of the Patriarchate, together with His Grace Chrysostomos, Bishop of Berenice
Present at this worship gathering were His Excellency the Ambassador of Greece to Cairo Mr. Lazaris, the Chairman and Members of the Arabic Speaking Community and many faithful.
